Capo Chord Finder

So what does this tool do? Essentially, you type in the chord that you want and it’ll give you which open shape to use and the fret where the capo needs to be.

By typing in the chord you want (ie, “G major”), the tool will suggest capo positions and the open chord shapes you can strum to create that chord, making it easier to play songs in different keys using the open shapes.

How to Use the Capo Chord Finder

Type your desired chord into the input box (for example: G major, A minor, Bb, etc.).

Click the “Find Capo Position” button to generate the results.

Look at the results — you’ll see suggested capo positions and the chord shapes you should strum.

Place your capo on the suggested fret and play the chord shape shown to achieve your desired chord.

If you’re on desktop, press “Return/Enter” to input your chord, and then “Escape” to Reset the results.
